Overview:
The Rose Community Foundation strives to advance inclusive, engaged, and equitable Greater Denver communities through values-driven philanthropy. The Foundation has annual grantmaking and distributions of nearly $20 million; approximately $10 million are annual discretionary grantmaking dollars, 25 percent of which support organizations focused on Jewish Life.

The Rose Community Foundation seeks a Director of Jewish Grants and Partnerships to develop grantmaking and partnership building initiatives to nurture a dynamic and inclusive Jewish ecosystem, embracing a myriad of ways to build enduring Jewish community infrastructure. Reporting to the Vice President of Community Impact and working closely with the President and CEO, this role will work to increase the capacity of Jewish organizations by supporting programs that are reflective of diverse, meaningful, and relevant engagement opportunities.

A strong candidate will be a strategic thinker, skilled executor, and relationship builder with a passion for building strong, inclusive, and vibrant Jewish communities.

Compensation Range:
$85K-$100K

Key Responsibilities
Manage grants and grow relationships within the Jewish Life portfolio and related funds
Source potential grantees and partners; investigate new funding ideas
Field inquiry calls from applicants to assess fit with the Jewish Life portfolio’s strategic priorities
Partner with cross-departmental teams to design and launch funding opportunities, including grant cycle announcements and forms
Review grant proposals and conduct due diligence, including site visits with grantees
Write and present grant proposal summaries and other documents related to grant decision-making to Foundation leadership
Serve as staff lead for Jewish Life Committee, including building agendas, facilitating meetings, and identifying new committee prospects
Build and maintain trusted relationships with organizations, local and national funders and partners, and community leaders and experts
Engage in continuous learning; share insights about community needs and opportunities with team members
Identify and pursue strategies to further the Foundation’s goals through connections, capacity building, and thought leadership
Design and implement innovative strategies and initiatives for fulfilling the goals of the Jewish Life portfolio
Guide initiatives to respond to community needs and opportunities
Oversee Jewish Life grantmaking budget; contribute to departmental budgets
Remain well-informed of current research, activities, and trends in Jewish Life
Oversee the Greater Denver Area Jewish Community Study, conducted every decade
Manage evaluation efforts and results to inform grantmaking strategies
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent life and work experience
Passion for building and sustaining Jewish engagement and inclusion initiatives
Experience with grantmaking practices
Understanding of nonprofit budgets and financials
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables
Comfort working autonomously as well as collaborating
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft 365; ability to quickly learn new CRM and data systems
Ability to exemplify tact and humility in handling sensitive issues
Adept at building trusted relationships across diverse communities
Experience and/or personal commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Basic understanding of Greater Denver’s Jewish community preferred (non-Denver applicants are also welcome)
Understanding of the national and global Jewish communal landscape
Knowledge of opportunities, challenges, and trends in the regional and national nonprofit and philanthropic sectors
Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis a plus
